Heart Rate Data Collected during meditation sessions for wellness tracking (stored locally only)

Activity Recognition Used to detect meditation posture and session quality

Meditation Sessions Duration, timestamps, and personal meditation statistics

1.2 Usage & Diagnostics Analytics

We gather anonymised usage and diagnostics data through Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics to continually improve ZenPulse:

App launches, screen views, session length and frequency
Feature utilisation statistics
General geographic location (approximate, derived from IP; city/region level only)
Device type, OS version, and app version
Crash traces and runtime diagnostics via Firebase Crashlytics

Device model and manufacturer
Operating system version
App version
Firebase installation ID / Crashlytics installation UUID (random, non‑resettable IDs used for analytics only)

Important: We do not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or phone number unless you explicitly provide it for support purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Core App Functionality

Provide meditation timing and tracking features
Monitor heart rate during meditation sessions
Generate meditation statistics and progress insights
Provide vibration notifications for intervals

2.2 App Improvement

Analyse usage patterns to enhance user experience
Identify and resolve bugs through crash reporting
Develop new features based on aggregated user behaviour
Optimise app performance and battery usage

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

Most of your personal data, including meditation history and heart rate measurements, is stored locally on your Wear OS device using encrypted storage mechanisms.

3.2 Cloud & Service Providers

We rely on Google‑hosted services acting as processors under GDPR:

Firebase Crashlytics: crash reporting and stability monitoring (stack traces, diagnostics)
Firebase Analytics: anonymised, event‑based usage analytics
Google Analytics: aggregated behaviour insights to guide product decisions

3.3 Data Security

All data in transit is encrypted via TLS/SSL
Local data is stored using Android's secure storage APIs
We follow Google's security best practices for Wear OS
Regular security audits and timely dependency updates

4. Data Sharing and Third‑Party Policies

We share aggregated and pseudonymised data only with the following processors. You can review their respective privacy policies directly:

4.2 Data Sharing Policy

            We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal health data with advertisers or marketing companies. Your meditation and heart‑rate data remain private and never leave your device.
        

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Data Control

Access: View your meditation history and statistics within the app
Delete: Clear your meditation history and data through app settings
Export: Request a copy of your data by contacting us
Opt‑out: Disable analytics under “Privacy” in system settings or in‑app

5.2 Analytics Opt‑out

You can opt out of analytics data collection by:

Disabling analytics in your device's privacy settings
Using "Limit Ad Tracking" or equivalent platform features
Contacting us directly to request exclusion (we honour Firebase's Data Deletion API)

6. Children's Privacy

ZenPulse is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected such information, we will delete it immediately.

7. Data Retention

Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or clear its data
Analytics Data: Retained for up to 26 months in Firebase/Google Analytics (industry default)
Crash Reports: Retained for up to 90 days for debugging

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your own (e.g., the United States) where our cloud service providers operate. We rely on GDPR‑compliant Standard Contractual Clauses and other safeguards for such transfers.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or our website. Continued use of ZenPulse after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Union, our legal basis for processing your data is:

Legitimate Interest: For essential app functionality and improvement
Consent: For optional analytics and crash reporting (revocable at any time)
Performance of Contract: To provide the meditation tracking service
